Sharie Wilson is a dedicated community leader with a deep commitment to Elk Grove and Sacramento. As the founder of Dreams Unlimited, she provides housing solutions, mental health support, and services for those facing significant life challenges. She also co-owns Mixed Institute of Cosmetology and Barber in Sacramento, co-founded DreamGirls Hair Salon in Elk Grove, and runs a hair product line with global reach. Through her businesses, Sharie fosters community empowerment and mental well-being. Her passion for service and commitment to breaking down barriers make her a pillar in the community and a driving force behind our organization’s impactful work.

Tonya Thompson

Founder

Tonya Thompson, a Los Angeles native, is a seasoned entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in investments, real estate, and property flipping. She is the Co-Founder of DreamGirls Hair, a brand that generated over $2.5 million in its first year and gained recognition in Forbes, Fortune, and Black Enterprise. Tonya also co-founded Sacramento’s first Black-owned cosmetology school, the Mixed Institute of Cosmetology & Barbering, and successfully operated Kid’s Preparatory Academy, a private school serving over 180 students, for 17 years. A Journalism graduate from California State University, Northridge, with a focus on Public Relations, Tonya is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and Jack and Jill of America. As a mother of three accomplished daughters, she attributes her success to the motto, “Just Do It.”

Nohely Aroche

Director of Services

Nohely has been a passionate community member since age 23, mentoring youth through dance and inspiring them to be their best. She has taught discipline, creativity, and self-expression as a dance mentor and has served in youth ministry at her church. Currently, Nohely coaches a girls’ dance team and is an assistant dance coach at Sacramento High School. She also promotes well-being through step aerobics at Highlands Wellness Center, encouraging mental and physical health. With a heart for service, Nohely’s mission to empower others aligns perfectly with the foundation’s goals.

Board Advisor

Over 12 years of experience supporting nonprofit organizations in various capacities, including as a dedicated board member. Known as a “Generosity Ally,” she is passionate about giving back to the community and fostering connections through impactful initiatives. With 15+ years of experience in HR, she specializes in strategic, people-centric approaches, helping organizations build environments where individuals and teams can thrive. Her expertise aligns HR strategies with visionary leadership, ensuring people remain at the forefront of every decision. She continues to bring her passion for community service and strategic leadership to her work, collaborating with like-minded individuals to drive meaningful change.

Jillian brings a strong background in leadership, having served on the executive board of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., where she honed skills in event planning, outreach, and community service. Her role as Ways and Means Chair with Jack and Jill of America, Inc. further developed her ability to organize impactful programs for families and youth. With a lifelong commitment to community service, Jillian has also contributed to committees at her children’s schools, focusing on inclusivity and student support.
